So.. once upon a time.. in a land called North America.. Erin Jericho and Jessica set out to Redding California for a..what they thought to be... great trip with no complications as they prayed for. Little did they know, well God had an adventure up his sleeeeeeeve **BIIIIIGGG SLEEEEEVVEEE*** ... flight from toronto to San Francisco was fine *Jericho's Television Touch Screen was off so it kept messing up *just an annoying side note* .. moving on...
Arrived on time, to get off the plane into the International Terminal A .. then to not find our flight on the flight board ***something's wrong here*** So we hunt around for an information desk.. oh guess what.. there are none.. so we find this lady at a desk somewhere helping people with something and we ask here where the heck we are supposed to go. Well she says... "United Flights are in Terminal 3-G" So she point's the way.. so ahoy we go in her direction.. A LOOONG way back up.. goooollly
We start walking and find another information desk to further point us to where we're going - we hop on this little train thing **Thank God for Old ladies at the volunteer information desk** Get to Terminal 3, walk off the train to.. OP.. be out of Security somehow SOOOO back around we go BACK through friggen Security! LUCKILY we had no trouble there.. *thank the Lord*.
Okay! Here we go.. OP... No we don't.. Our Flights Been cancelled! *Loving this story so far eh? ;) *, SO what in the world do we do?!?!?!?! .. basically run around frantically for like 2 hours waiting in the stupid Customer Service Line-ups where they DO NOT HELP YOU! *We will be calling for a refund because *they cancelled our flight** and they don't help you once this happens* .. So Second Customer Service Line-up because the first one told us they can't help us we'd need the second one because we'd need to go by ground *UH DUH people we can't rend a friggen car* SO we get to this line up.. wait in it.. starving.. get food in the midst of waiting because your in line for like an hour... We hear talk of Sacramento flights so Jessica asks if any of their flights were canceled - turned out this old couple was on the same flight and we were figuring things out to get back home also *they live in this area so they know it well*
So We kind of clinged onto them thanks to Jessica :), this old lady took so much grace on us - and after some discussions about which route to take *Train, Rent a Vehicle, Wait for a different flight* they decided that renting a vehicle would be the least complicated and most direct. So off we tag along with them.. but .. we're forgetting something here.. can you guess what it is??? ... LUGGAGE! .. yup we need that.
So Down to baggage claim we all go -- wait in ANOTHER FRIGGEN LINE UP! ... to have a not so helpful grumpy unknowing lady tell us that they recalled all our flights luggage and that it should be coming out on belt 4 in about a half an hour. So over we go to Belt 4 - wait for a bit-- noooooooo luggage. So Jessica and *sorry I didn't introduce you our new friends --Judy a.k.a. Judith.. and Jerry :). The cutest old couple, big old jolly man - they don't' remind me of anyone to compare with but they were lovely. SOo after Jess and Judy ran around for a bit **they checked with this cranky lady like 3 times about our luggage *God bless her little heart (note that mom)* (During this Time Erin and and I were waiting with Jerry in hopes of seeing our luggage.. and waiting with all our carry on important stuff) they found this other guy and asked him.. and oh he was smart enough to scan our baggage tags and tell us they were transferred to Sacramento already and had arrived there! *Judy was so mad that the other lady didn't do this* - we wasted about an hour of our time .... AAAAgain. During this time Erin and I got Starbucks - that was great. Missed Timmy-Ho's.
SO with this new information **during this time Judy had called Amis Rentals and booked our vehicle as she is a 'preferred customer' whatever that means.. but she is... so we head to the rentals.
Get there - OP they can't find her reservation.. yea we were used to it by this point.. they found it after some prodding. Get in our New Copper Dodge Grand Caravan and embark *side note.. we were held up getting out of the parking garage and all's we could see was some guy going through everything at the exit kiosk* so after like 5/10 minutes they opened another kiosk.. continue... on our 3/4 ish hour drive From San Fransisco Airport to Sacramento Air port with a couple we hardly knew but by the grace of God were great and knew the way and were the best tour guides on the way.. we learned so much! We kept looking at eachother and and laughing at how crazy we were, what a crazy day it'd been, and the complete strangers that were telling us everything about everything and anything. *we even stopped at Carl's Jr. *something to that affect* and ate dinner with them --fast food.
During all this Erin and Jess are conversing with Kristy about how we're getting picked up and by who - we thought it was by this girl named Heather - nope.. by some guy named Kyle.. oh that's great.. poor guy waited forever! And was getting inpatient.. no Duh we were like 6 hours late.
So with this old couple - we arrive in Sacramento, we were great friends by this leg of the race, waltz into the airport. CLAIM OUR FREAKIN LUGGAGE! Never been so happy to see my overtly floral suitcase. Text Kyle saying we're finally ready and done!
Go out side, standing with our lovely new friends because they wouldn't leave us until they knew we were safe. We called them our Angel's, we kept waiting for them to like disappear as they walked away.. they didn't.. that we saw ;) .. Kyle pulled up - tall guy - somewhere between Jeff Mahood, Ryan Carty with a big bushy beard and shaved head, lanky, and quiet - didn't talk really at all, made it slightly really akward. Got our stuff in the car - could this really be happening?!?! Are we actually on our way?!?! OOO YEAAA
Very giddy at first re-playing our adventure. Then.. bam out like lights after being awake for a good 24 hours traveling and stressed. So, a chauffeur we had.
Long Trip to our little new residence, cute in the dark.. but.. Just my luck.. 2 ugly spiders on the ceiling looking right at me and taunting me. So I grab my shoe as Kristy is starting to give us a bit of a tour .. and I murder them, cold blood!!!
All this to say - It's late - we're exhausted all the 'ally's you can be (ment'ally..etc..)... we're all e-mailing our stories, we're Safe, and God is protecting us no matter how frusterating this was, He never left us!
God is good, we are Good, and I love ya!
Keep in touch
